Call to Artists
Sept. 11, 2002
From: Sharon Nelson

Benefit Show for Victory In The Valley, a Wichita organization that helps cancer victims and their families.

November 15, 2002 and each year thereafter.

The Scottish Rite Center located at 332 E. First Street, downtown Wichita. This venue provides a beautiful theatre for the live show and a large banquet hall for the other activities and will hold the 400 to 450 people we expect.

Artists have donated their work to raise money for many causes and have repeatedly proven they are a very concerned and giving group. This call for donations of artwork for the auction is again an opportunity to show what talented people can do for their community when they join together for an excellent cause. Very few families have been fortunate enough to escape the effects of cancer in their lives and this allows us as a community of artists to show our support.

Attention Artists: I need the following information for your donated pieces: Title, Artist, phone number, address, medium, size and retail price. Call me at (316) 689-0620 or email me at slnelson@cox.net. Please give me this information on your piece as soon as possible and let me know if you want to deliver or if I should pick it up.

If you donate a painting, jewelry, sculpture or other piece of artwork you have the opportunity to share in not only promoting a very worthwhile cause but also have your work at a prestigious auction. Of course, your donation is also a tax deduction for you. Please contact me, Sharon Nelson, at 316-689-0620 with any questions or advising me of your donation. Or email me at slnelson@cox.net at any time. We need paintings to be framed and wired, and are accepting three-dimensional work as well. Although the artwork isn't needed until the end of October I need to have your name and all the other vital information by October 1 to have it in the catalogue for all the patrons. A form is available for the needed information or you can email the information to me. Send your name, title of work, gallery, medium, size, and approximate retail value. You can either drop the artwork off at my house or make arrangements to have it picked up if absolutely necessary.

Contact: Please contact me, Sharon Nelson, with any donations you have for the Art Auction at 316-689-0620, or email slnelson@cox.net for more information.

I am also looking for panels to borrow for the display of artwork for the show and would greatly appreciate any help in this area also.
